Easy to install

You can install them yourself in ten minutes. You will require a screwdriver and some patience. The first step is taking off the cover that was originally installed. It must be removed before the new cover is installed.
After you have removed the cover after removing the old cover, you can make use of a flathead tool to remove the four main attachment clips from the passenger side of fob assembly. fiat key are marked with red on the image below. Also, note the tabs for locating slots shown in yellow that require disengagement as well.
Replace the battery with a # CR2032 coin cell battery. Make sure that the "+" positive side of the battery corresponds to the opening of the fob and that the -" negative side is facing towards the buttons made of rubber.
Re-attach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the locating tabs. Once you've done that place the fob that's on the driver's side back into your car and test it. Press the push button located on the back of the key. If everything is functioning properly the parking lights will be lit and the doors will automatically lock.

The key fob comes with an embedded microchip that's used to communicate with the Body Control Module (BCM). When you insert the key in your Fiat vehicle, it presses an ignition switch, which functions as a "key-in-ignition" reminder. The BCM will then be in a position to read the transponder on the key fob and confirm that it's a valid.
